How IEB Matric Exam Rewrites Work

Are you an IEB learner wishing that you could have a second go at your Matric examinations? Well, you can. All you will need to do is apply for a Matric rewrite through a supplementary examination, here’s how to do so.

Did you know you can have a second chance at your Matric final exams? This can be done through writing a supplementary exam.

IEB students will have their Matric rewrite for November exams take place in May.

This exam period is for the following categories of students:

  • Students who were absent in November 2021
  • Students who wish to improve on their November marks

SEE – Matric Remark Registration For IEB Now Open

Students can apply for any number of subjects (except LO) and will have to write both papers in subjects that have a Paper 1 and Paper 2.

You have to apply online to rewrite your IEB final matric examinations.

The cost to rewrite is R1510 per paper.

Once these exams are marked and resulted, these students will apply for/receive a “combined” IEB final Grade 12 certificate.
