The University of South Africa (Unisa) has an offering of undergraduate and postgraduate courses that prospective students may choose from.
These courses are available in the following fields: Accounting Sciences, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Economic and Management Sciences, Education, Human Sciences, Law, Science, Engineering and Technology, Graduate School of Business Leadership and the other Administration and Professional course.
Students may choose the Diploma course that they aspire to study towards in most of these colleges, except for the Graduate School of Business Leadership, including other Administration and Professional courses which are for post graduate students.
Steps On How You Can Apply For A Diploma Course:

- Click on ‘Proceed to ODEL & Unisa’
- Click on ‘apply now’
- Click on Undergraduate Qualifications
- Do you have a student number? If you have a student number that starts with a 7, then click YES If you have any other Unisa student number but it doesn’t start with a 7 then Click NO.
- Fill the empty field with your personal details.
- Select the qualification you want to apply for
- Fill the empty field with your personal details and proceed
- Upload your documents
- Submit your application
To qualify for a Diploma course, you need to have a matric or a Higher Certificate that helps you meet the minimum requirements for the course.
According to the university, you are required to have a National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Diploma endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning and with at least 40-50% in Mathematics, however, you need to have additional subjects that are aligned with the chosen qualification with at least 40%.
Should you need meet these requirements, it is not a train smash as you may first take a Higher Certificate which will enable you to acquire points or credits to gain admission in the programme.
An NSC candidate will need to have obtained at least 30% in the language of teaching and learning, if you have a Senior Certificate with at least an F symbol on HG or an E symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning you also meet the requirements.
TVET college National Certificate Vocational graduates with at least 40% in the language of teaching and learning, having obtained the same mark in completed vocational subjects related to the chosen field of study.
