Is GDE REGISTRATION 2023 OPEN?
The 2023 Gauteng schools’ online registration period for students in grades one through eight will open on Friday, July 22, and end on August 19, according to the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE).
To guarantee their child’s spot in a Gauteng public school in 2023, the department has invited parents and guardians to submit an online application.
After submitting an application, it states that candidates will receive SMS notifications of job offers, which they can accept or reject, between October 3 and October 31.
HOW TO EFFECTIVELY APPLY FOR GDE ADMISSION 2023
Within seven days of submitting an application, parents and guardians must upload or send certified copies of the following documents:
- ID or passport for both parents and kids

- Permit for long-term habitation
- permit for study
- birth certificate for South Africa
- evidence of a house address
- Address for Work proof
- most recent report card from school, clinic card, or vaccination record (grade one only)
According to the GDE, applications that are uploaded or submitted after the application period’s deadline will be viewed as incomplete, and it will only place students in open schools between December 1 and December 15.
Schools will receive an auto alert each time new papers are posted, both during and up to seven days after the application process, in order to eliminate the chance of missing an applicant with uploaded documents. All uploaded the system will highlight papers for validation.|
APPLICATION FOR GDE ADMISSION 2023Â ENTRANCE ELIGIBILITY
- Only students entering Grades 1 and 8 in 2023 may apply online through the GDE Admissions Online System.
- Those who apply to a school with a feeder zone that includes their home address are given preference. As a result, the first candidate is not given priority for placement in the school.
- For ALL students currently enrolled in Grades R and 7, parents must submit an application;
- Please proceed immediately to a nearby school. The school will give advice regarding space availability.
- Online applications are not accepted for children who will repeat Grade 1 or 8.
- You can apply even if you’re not a South African
- DO NOT use your own profile to apply for a neighbor’s child or a sister’s or brother’s child. For their children’s applications, you must register the information (ID number, cell phone number, and address) of your neighbor, sister, or brother.
- One youngster may submit applications to a maximum of five different schools.
- For each Grade, a parent may apply for a maximum of three kids. This implies that each parent may apply for three students in Grade 1 and three more in Grade 8, respectively.
- Each learner may submit 5 applications from parents of different households.
- You cannot apply to schools in other provinces using the GDE Admissions Online System.
- The youngster must be five and will turn six on June 30, 2023. You cannot apply for a child who is younger than this. There is no maximum age for applicants to Grade 1. Overage students, however, may be routed for admission to the appropriate.
If you are planning to have twins, you must submit two applications; the system will later recognize the identical birthdate in your profile to ensure that your twins attend the same school.
Parents have 30Â days to apply, but walk-in centers cannot accommodate large numbers.
