The Department of Basic Education has announced that the marking of the 2023 NSC examinations is currently underway. The marking will take place over the next few weeks.
The Basic Education Department stated that the marking of the 2023 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations is progressing well thus far. Marking will end on the 22nd of December 2023.
On the 8th of December, the 2023 NSC exams officially ended. The examination period was extended to allow some students to rewrite certain examination papers.
Rewriting of certain NSC examinations took place in the following provinces:
- Mpumalanga
- Gauteng
- Eastern Cape
- Western Cape
- North West
The Department of Basic Education (DBE) stated that they are pleased that the examination period went smoothly in most parts of the country. According to the DBE, only a few irregularities took place during the examination period.
Mathanzima Mweli stated that “all the markers are extremely motivated and everyone is looking forward to carrying out this important task with the greatest precision”.
Grade 12 learners who wrote the 2022 NSC examinations should expect their results on 19 January 2023.
