Thousands of students will register for academic programmes at tertiary institutions around South Africa. One South African university opened its registration period for first-year students this week.
The North-West University (NWU) has opened its online registration period for first-year students. The online registration period opened on 23 January and is set to close on 17 February 2023.
Here’s How To Register Online At North-West University
Step 1: Visit the NWU registration page
Step 2: Sign in with student number and pin (First time registering, select “create pin”. If you cannot remember your pin, select “forgot pin”.
Step 3: Click on “Registration” and thereafter the “Self-Registration” option.
Step 4: Select your qualification and click “Next”
Step 5: Provide contact information (select the option for providing “personal information (POPIA)
Step 6: Select modules that are to be registered
Step 7: Click “Next” to apply for the “Prerequisite Test” (this will reflect which modules you can register)
Step 8: Accept the “Undertaking”. This will confirm that the student accepts the terms of the agreement
Step 9: Notification will reflect that “Registration was successful”
Once students complete the registration process, they will receive Proof of Registration via the email address they provided.
NWU warned that individuals who did not qualify for admission, applied late or did not receive an offer to study at the institution will not be allowed to enter its campuses and enrol in walking during this registration period.
They said, “The North-West University will not allow persons who did not qualify for admission, did not receive an offer to study at the NWU or who applied late to enter its campuses to enrol as so-called walk-ins during the registration period for first-year students in 2023”
Online registration for existing students will commence later this month on 30 January 2023.

The university also invited the myNWU application as it contains the orientation programmes. The myNWU application is available on Google Play and the App store.
Contact classes for the first semester will commence on 20 February 2023.
