The University of Cape Town, UCT faculty of Health Sciences (Medical School) offers a variety of educational, training and academic career options within the health care and research department.
These options range from clinical and public health to health and rehabilitation sciences. Here are the requirements for entry into the UCT medical school.
UCT’s medical school has 13 academic departments and their programmes include undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical services and research. Student need to meet both the university and faculty requirements in order to enter into postgraduate or undergraduate programmes
UCT Medical School Entry Requirements
Undergraduates:
- APS (An Admission Point Score) score of 463/600
- FPS (Faculty Point Score) score of 628/900
- WPS score of 764 (628+135.6) for South African applicants only
Postgraduates:
- Bachelor’s degree with the appropriate subjects or other qualifications that could be considered to be equivalent.
Honours:
- Bachelor’s degree with specific major subject
Masters:
- Master’s degree is an Honours degree in the subject that the applicant wishes to pursue at Master’s level.
Doctorates:
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
