The Second Chance Matric Programme registration has begun for candidates writing the May/June examinations. It aims to provide support to learners who could not meet the requirements of the National Senior Certificate or the Senior Certificate (amended).
2023 May/June Second Chance Matric Material
The SA Department of Basic Education has collated multimedia material to help you to prepare for the National Senior Certificate/Senior Certificate(amended) examinations.
This material – made up of videos, study guides and audio – does not cover the entire curriculum, but it does focus on the core content of each knowledge area and points out where you can earn easy marks.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Only National Senior Certificate (NSC) candidates qualify for both the May/June and October/November exams.
- Candidates who study on a part-time basis will not be required to pay any fees to take part in the programme.
- In-person classes are facilitated by qualified teachers at selected schools and community centres.
