2023 registration for University of the Witwatersrand, Wits students is officially open. Here is all the important information you need to know.
New first-year students, returning undergraduate students and postgraduate students will need to register on the dates provided by their faculty.
Registration will take place online, however, students who are unable to complete their registration online or who may need assistance can register on-campus within the timeframe specified by their faculty, however these services will be limited.
Online registration will take place from 3 January to 20 February 2023.
How To Complete Your Wits Registration
Step one:Â Make sure you are cleared for registration
New students will need to accept their Firm Offer before registering online. Make sure that all required documents, such as hard copies of academic qualifications and certified documents have been provided to the Student Enrolment Centre.
Step two:Â Check the registration deadlines for your faculty
You can find these dates on the Self-Service Portal
Step three:Â Go to the Wits Self-Service Portal
You will need to log in with your student number and password and click ‘Sign in’.
Step four:Â Click on “register online”
Step five:Â Complete all the relevant information
This includes medical aid details and a financial declaration section.
Step six:Â Accept the terms and conditions and verify your personal details.
Once you have done this click “register online”.
Step seven:Â Choose modules
For fixed curriculum:Â
- Select courses and slots
- Click ‘validate’
- Click ‘Enrol’
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Click ‘Submit’
For flexible curriculum:
- Click on ‘Choices’
- Select ‘Courses’
- Click ‘Add to the planner’
- Click ‘Return’
- Click ‘validate’
- Click ‘Enrol’
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Click ‘Submit’
You should now be registered.
Visit the campus website for registration dates specific to your faculty as well as the on-campus registration dates should you require assistance or curriculum counseling.
It is important that new first-year students who receive a firm offer via email or SMS, complete their registration as soon as possible. Students who do not register in time will have their offer withdrawn and their place offered to another student.
