The IEB is an Independent South African examination agency which sets examinations for most private schools in the country. Here is when matric rewrites will take place.
Learners who come from schools belonging to the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) have the chance to rewrite their matric examinations.
IEB learners will have their matric rewrite for November exams take place in May.
These exams are for the following learners:
- learners who were absent in the November exam period
- learners who wish to improve on their November marks
Applications for the May examinations will close on 15 March 2023 and the IEB expects the examinations to take place from 8 to 26 May 2023.
Learners can expect the May examination results to be released on 20 July 2023, however this date must still be confirmed by Umalusi.
May examinations can be sent for remarks but the closing date for remarks is 28 July 2023 and the remark results for these examinations will be released on 16 August 2023.
Candidates who apply to rewrite their matric examinations will be informed if there are any changes to the dates released by the IEB.
The IEB is an independent assessment body which offers a range of certified assessments, benchmarked assessments and training.
The body is accredited by Umalusi for school and adult assessments.
