Sassa Confirms Grant Payment Dates For February

As 2023 ushers into its second month, the South African Social Security Agency is already gearing up to disburse its second batch of social grants. For qualifying beneficiaries, this means keeping track of the agency’s payment schedule, which is currently arranged as follows.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the payment dates for February 2023. The agency provides social grants to over 18 million South Africans who need financial support.

According to Sassa’s recent official social media statement, the payment dates for the various grants will be as follows:

  • Older Person’s Person’s Grant: 2 February 2023
  • Disability Grant: 3 February 2023
  • All Other Grants: 6 February 2023

Sassa also advised grant recipients to ensure that their bank details are up to date to ensure a seamless payment process. Beneficiaries who have not yet updated their bank details are encouraged to do so as soon as possible to avoid any delays in receiving their grants.

Sassa has urged grant recipients to use their grants wisely and for the intended purposes, such as food and essential household expenses. The agency also emphasised the importance of not having to make immediate withdrawals as the funds received will remain available until needed.

There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.

Sassa grant beneficiaries can collect their grant payments using a variety of payment options. Payment options include collections at South African Post Bank pay points and ATM withdrawals at retail stores such as Shoprite, Checkers, U-Save, Pick ‘n Pay, and Boxer.

The confirmation of the grant payment dates for February 2023 brings relief to millions of South Africans who depend on these grants for their livelihood.
