What You Need To Know About A Matric Certificate Replacement

Have you previously improved your matric results? If you rewrote any of your subjects and now wish to combine your credits into one certificate, you can apply for a Replacement Certificate. Here is how to go about applying for a Replacement Certificate.

If you wrote your matric examinations in more than one sitting and wish to combine your results to qualify for a National Certificate (National Senior Certificate and Senior Certificate), you will need to apply for a Replacement Certificate: change of status.

Follow These Steps to Receive Your Certificate

1. Pay the prescribed fee by postal order at the Post Office, cash at the DBE/PED office or by cheque.

2. Ensure that you have the following documents with you

  • Your results from all examination sittings.
  • Your original ID and a certified copy.
  • Your proof of payment.

Alternatively, you can visit the DBE website, download the form, complete it and post it with the above documents. The postal order must be addressed to Private Bag X895, Pretoria, 0001.

Your combination statement of results will be available immediately, but you will have to wait four to six weeks for your Replacement Certificate: change of status.

It will cost you R153.00 for a Replacement Certificate and an additional R55.00 for a statement of results. These prices are subject to change, so visit the DBE website for the latest information on pricing.
