Northern Cape School Admission Applications Are Now Open

School admission applications open annually. Parents in hoping to secure placements in Northern Cape schools now have the chance to do so, as applications have opened for a limited period.

The Northern Cape Department of Education (NCDOE) has announced that it has opened its online learner admission applications for the 2024 school year.

In a statement, the Education Department said:

The department has opened the 2024 Online Learner Admissions from 22 May 2023 until 22 June 2023.

The Education Department has clearly stated that the Northern Cape 2024 online admission applications are strictly for learners who will be in Grades R, 1 & 8 in the upcoming school year.

Parents/ Legal Guardians may apply directly to schools for admission and placements for all other grades.

As the admissions process can be a stressful time of year for parents, the department has  shared some guidance on how they can prepare to apply for their children to be admitted to a school.

However, they have been advised to first start by log on to the NCDOE Online Learner admissions website to complete the application process.

Parents/guardians may follow these steps to apply for admission:

Step 1: Fill in Parent/Guardian details

Step 2: Fill in Learner Details

Step 3: Apply to a maximum of three schools

Education Department regards early enrolment as a priority for the start of a successful school year.

The Education Department has identified 83 walk-in centres to assist parents/legal guardians without a device/gadget or internet connectivity to complete their application, as connectivity is an issue in some areas/towns in the Northern Cape.
